Results
Counts are aggregated from the uploaded Dominion cast vote record export. This snapshot has not been reconciled with a certified statement of vote.
- Single-choice contests
- Valid candidate selections, excluding overvotes. Percentages exclude records without a counted selection.
- Ranked-choice contests
- Write-ins are excluded for now. A write-in ranking is skipped and the vote continues to the next eligible candidate. If no eligible choice remains, the record becomes inactive. A rank marked for multiple choices still counts as an overvote, including when one of those choices is a write-in. These are independent calculations, not official round reports.
- The remaining calculation follows SF Charter §13.102: skip blank ranks, count repeated candidates once, transfer eliminated candidates’ votes, and stop on a tie requiring an official decision. Reporting continues to the final two candidates. Elimination is decided across the full contest; maps show each area’s portion of the same round.
- Write-ins in other contests
- Write-in selections are omitted from displayed totals, percentages, maps, and seat standings. Contest record counts are unchanged. The aggregate JSON download retains the original source totals for audit.
- Multi-seat contests
- The Seats view ranks candidates by votes across the whole contest and marks the available seats. The highest totals fill those seats; there is no majority threshold and no ranked-choice transfer. Current leaders are not declared winners. Write-ins are excluded from these standings. Map and table percentages are shares of candidate selections, not voters; a precinct’s leading candidate does not determine who takes a seat.
- Round maps
- Eliminations are decided across the whole contest. Precinct and district colors show their portion of the selected round. They do not run separate local elections.
- Measure titles
- Titles and context links come from the California Secretary of State and SF voter information pamphlet. Titles are matched to this election only.
- Ballot order
- The menu follows printed card, side, column, and row order in the supplied ballot layouts, with district variants placed alongside the same office.
- Records
- Unique scanned record–contest pairs. Multi-card ballots can produce multiple records. Coverage is not an estimate of votes counted or remaining.
Geography
Contest eligibility and district membership come from the election manifest. The map and table include only eligible precincts. Grouped areas are clipped to those precincts; missing results remain visible.
DataSF precinct boundaries use the 2022-defined precinct dataset. District unions use this election’s membership assignments. Regional districts show their San Francisco portion only. Districts with no CVR records open in a wider Bay Area view instead of zooming into a tiny island precinct.
Parcel outlines include active map footprints. Parcel outlines sit over the precinct’s result shading. Selecting a parcel shows the precinct at the clicked point. No parcel-level vote totals or household choices are inferred. Bay Area context uses Census-derived county geometry.
Updates
Automatic collection is not active. The source package includes a refresh command for local CVR archives and discovery of linked CVR ZIP files on an official results page. The SF results server returned HTTP 403 during setup.
Each accepted import replaces the snapshot, reads ballot order and contests, computes ranked-choice rounds, rebuilds district scopes, and validates the totals. Failed imports leave the previous snapshot unchanged. New precinct IDs require matching geography.
